WATCH: King Krule - "Dum Surfer"

If you're like me and have been desperately missing the weekly dose of temporary insanity that was Twin Peaks: The Return, then this video is for you.

Directed by Brother Willis – who has worked with artists like Beirut and Dillon Francis – "Dum Surfer" is an undead lo-fi fever dream, equal parts creepy and captivating.

I know this is a blog about watching things, but as a side note, King Krule's latest album "The Ooz" has been in heavy rotation on my Spotify, and if you're a fan of band leader Archy Marshall's unwieldy croon and unmistakable jazz chops, this latest release may be his most enjoyable and immersive offering to date.

WATCH: Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vile - Over Everything (Official Video)

Music videos are elaborate these days. I mean, seriously, I think some of them have bigger budgets than recent indie flicks I've seen. See: M.I.A's "Born Free" or Flying Lotus' "Tiny Tortures"

This video does not fall into that category, however. Aided by luscious black and white, director Danny Cohen hones the attention in on Barnett and Vile and a slew of beautiful backdrops that pop with some masterful composition.

Coincidentally, Cohen has worked with a bunch of other favorite recording artists of mine, including Mac DeMarco and King Lizard and the Gizzard Wizard. For more from him, click here

SIDENOTE: Barnett and Vile just released another video directed by Cohen. Do watch if you're feeling extra sentimental.
